Ron Nehring was a Republican candidate for Lieutenant Governor of California in the 2014 elections. Ron Nehring lost the general election on November 4, 2014.

Nehring is a conservative activist and Republican strategist. From February 2007 to early 2011, he served as chairman of the California Republican Party.

Prior to becoming chair of the statewide GOP, Ron Nehring was the Chairman of the Republican Party of San Diego County and President of the California Republican County Chairmen's Association.


Ballot measures

Nehring has written in favor of the California Paycheck Protection Act (2010).[1]

He is a fan of the initiative process, saying, "When it's not possible to make progress on an important issue, the initiative allows the people to take action. Of course, politicians don't like it, because of the fact people can make laws by going around them."[2]
