Saunders ran in the 2012 election for Florida State Senate District 39. Saunders was defeated by Dwight Bullard in the Democratic primary on August 14, 2012.[3]
2010
Saunders ran for re-election to the 120th District seat in 2010. He did not have any opposition in the August 24 primary. Saunders defeated Morgan McPherson (R) and Henry Llorella (Tea Party) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[4]
