Ramsey ran in the 2012 election for Georgia State Senate District 43. Ramsey ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on July 31, 2012. No Republican candidate filed to run for this seat. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2] Ramsey ran unopposed in the general election.[3]

Ramsey won re-election to the 43rd District Seat in 2010. He was unopposed in the July 20 primary and defeated Diana Williams (R) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[4]
