Jones ran for re-election in the 2012 election for West Virginia House of Delegates, District 1. Jones and incumbent Randy Swartzmiller defeated Marilyn S. Boyd in the May 8 primary election. He was challenged by Randy Swartzmiller, Justin Bull, and Carl Thompson in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2][3]

Jones was elected to District 1. Jones was one of three candidates running for the two positions in District 1 on the ballot in the November 2, 2010 general election. Jones' opponents were Democrat incumbent Randy Swartzmiller and Independent Amanda Mesler. The top two vote-getters were elected.[4][5][6]
