Biography

Takumi's professional experience includes working as a Program Director of American Friends Service Committee, an English as a second language teacher, a Communications Specialist with the Hawaii State American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, and a laborer at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard. Takumi served in the Hawaii Air National Guard from 1970-1977.

Takumi won re-election in the 2012 election for Hawaii House of Representatives District 35. Takumi ran unopposed in the August 11 Democratic primary and ran unopposed in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]

Takumi won re-election to the 36th District Seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition on September 18, 2010. The general election took place on November 2, 2010. Reed Shiraki ran on the Republican for this seat.[3]
