Adams is Director of the Grant County Deposit Bank and Owner of the Royce Adams Oil Company. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army from 1961-1965, and has been a farmer.
He is a member of the American Morgan Horse Association, Bluegrass Morgan Horse Association, Gideons International, Grant County Chamber of Commerce Board, President of the Grant County Fair Board, and member of the Grant County Farm Bureau, and the National Federation of Independent Business.[1]

On November 4, 2008, Adams was re-elected to the 61st District Seat in the Kentucky House of Representatives, defeating Stephen Wood (R). [3] Adams raised $69,067 for his campaign, while Wood raised $36,157. [4]
