Ruben Diaz (b. April 22, 1943) is a Democratic member of the New York State Senate, representing District 32 since 2003. Diaz was a member of the New York City Council from 2001 to 2002.

Diaz served in the United States Armed Forces from 1960 to 1963. He was then a Pastor for the Church of God on Seward Avenue in the Bronx from 1976 to 1978. He currently works as an Ordained Minister for the Church of God.

Diaz earned his Theological Degree from Damascus Bible Institute. He then received his BA in Philosophy/Political Theory from Herbert H. Lehman College in 1976.

Diaz ran in the 2012 election for New York State Senate District 32. He ran unopposed in both the Democratic and Republican primaries on September 13, 2012. Diaz defeated David M. Johnson (I) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [1][2]
