The Rules Committee is a standing committee of the Alaska State Senate.

Per the Uniform Rules, committees of the Alaska State Senate are assigned by the Committee on Committees. The Committee on Committees is appointed by the President of the Senate and has five members including the President. Committees are assigned after each election.[1] What constitutes a quorum for committees is not defined. The President is not recognized as an "ex officio" member of any committee.

Function

Per Uniform Rule 20-a, the Rules Committee is to consider "[the] interpretation of the Uniform Rules, calendar, the internal administration of the house and matters pertaining to the management of the legislature as a whole."[2]
