Born July 20, 1966 in Friend, Nebraska, Sen. Karpisek is the owner of a meat market in Wilber, Nebraska. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Before being elected to the Nebraska Legislature, Sen. Karpisek was Mayor of Wilber, NE.[1]

Karpisek is the owner and operator of Karpisek's Meat Market.
Karpisek was mayor of Wilber, Nebraska from 1994 to 2006, in which year he joined the Nebraska State Legislature as a senator.
Karpisek is involved with a number of organizations, including the Nebraska Association of Meat Processors, Wilber Area Community Foundation, Wilber-Clatonia Alumni Band, Wilber Czech Cemetery Board, Wilber Lions Club, Wilber Sportsman Club, and the Wilber United Methodist Church.
