Russ Nowell (b. March 11, 1972) is a former Republican member of the Mississippi House of Representatives. He represented the 43rd District from 2008 to 2012. Nowell switched from Democratic to Republican in January 2011.[1]

Nowell is President of Southern Security Life. He earned his BA from Mississippi State University.

Nowell is a member of the Louisville Rotary Club, Mississippi Funeral Directors Association, Winston County Chamber of Commerce, and Winston County Chairman of Ducks Unlimited. He is married and has one child.[2]

Nowell ran in the 2011 election for Mississippi House of Representatives District 43. He ran unopposed in the August 2 primary, but was defeated by Michael Evans in the November 8 general election.[3][4]
