Saginaw Charter Amendments, 4 (August 2010)

Four Saginaw Charter Amendment measures were on the August 3, 2010 ballot in the city of Saginaw which is in Saginaw County.

Three of the four measures were approved

The first amendment would have changed it so that elected officials would not necessarily need to reside in the city to work for the city, state laws would govern which posts had to have residents living within the city limits.

  • NO 10,917 (50.82%) Defeatedd

The second amendment will clarify language dealing with the job responsibilities delegated to the financial director.

  • YES 3,135 (53.74%) Approveda
  • NO 2,699 (46.26%)

The third amendment will take out a enforcement of a tax that is not enforceable by the city council members.

  • YES 3,651 (59.91%) Approveda
  • NO 2,443 (40.09%)

The fourth amendment will make it easier for the council to approve measures if a member is missing during a vote.[1]
