DiDomenico won a special election in May 2010 to replace Anthony Galluccio, who resigned after being sentenced to prison. DiDomenico was an Everett city councilor and served as Galluccio’s chief of staff. [1]

DiDomenico won re-election in the 2012 election for Massachusetts State Senate Middlesex and Suffolk District. DiDomenico was unopposed in the September 6 Democratic primary and was unopposed in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
2010
DiDomenico won re-election to the Middlesex, Suffolk and Essex District seat in 2010. Timothy Flaherty ran against him in the primary. The primary election took place on September 14, 2010. Barbara Bush ran for the seat on the Republican ticket. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.

2010 special election
On May 11, 2010, DiDomenico won a special election to represent the Middlesex, Suffolk and Essex Senate District in the Massachusetts State Senate, defeating independent candidate John Cesan.[4] The election was held to fill the seat made vacant by the resignation of Senator Anthony D. Galluccio.
