In Salt Lake County, Proposition 1 Public Facility Bond was on the November 3 ballot in Salt Lake County.
Proposition 1 will create a $125 million bond for the city to use to build a new police headquarters and emergency operations center in downtown Salt Lake City. A survey done in late August showed that 90 percent of the voter population was aware of the proposition and about 68 percent of those agreeing that the proposition would be passed. Most voters agreed that a new headquarters was needed, but fewer liked the idea of raised taxes. There is not a distinct opposition to this proposition. A similar proposition failed in 2007.
