Sam Caligiuri is a Republican member of the Connecticut Senate, representing District 16.
Education
Caligiuri earned his MA from Boston College. He went on to receive his MA in Religion from Yale Divinity School. He then earned his JD from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.
Professional experience
Caligiuri has worked as Adjunct Faculty for the University of Connecticut School of Law. He is currently Partner of Day Pitney Limited Liability Partnership.
Political experience
Caligiuri was Deputy Legal Counsel for the Office of the Governor of Connecticut from 1995 to 1997. He was a member/President of the Waterbury Board of Aldermen from 1997 to 2002. He was also Acting Mayor of Waterbury from 2001 to 2002. He joined the Connecticut State Senate in 2007 and has served in that position since. He is currently Senate Deputy Minority Leader, representing the 16th district.
