Sam Caligiuri was a Republican member of the Connecticut State Senate, representing District 16. He joined the Connecticut State Senate in 2007 and served in that position until 2011. He served as Senate Deputy Minority Leader in his final term. Caligiuri ran for U.S. Congress in 2010.[1]

Caligiuri was Deputy Legal Counsel for the Office of the Governor of Connecticut from 1995 to 1997. He was a member/President of the Waterbury Board of Aldermen from 1997 to 2002. He was also Acting Mayor of Waterbury from 2001 to 2002.

Caligiuri earned his M.A. from Boston College. He went on to receive his M.A. in Religion from Yale Divinity School. He then earned his J.D. from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law.

Caligiuri has worked as Adjunct Faculty for the University of Connecticut School of Law. He is currently Partner of Day Pitney Limited Liability Partnership.
