Sam Wercinski

Arizona Real Estate Commissioner and director of the Arizona Department of Real Estate. After resigning from these positions in January 2009, he announced seven months later his candidacy for the statewide position of secretary of state, challenging Republican Ken Bennett, who was appointed to the position by Governor Jan Brewer. [1] [2] [3] Wercinski lost the Democratic nomination on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 after receiving only thirty-seven percent of the vote. [4]
