San Francisco Ratepayer Advocate, Proposition I (November 2008)
If Proposition I had been approved, it would have authorized the creation of an "Office of the Independent Ratepayer Advocate." This office would have made recommendations about utility rates to the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission.

Proposition I was referred to the ballot on July 16, 2008 by an 8-3 vote of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors.
In favor: Supervisors Alioto-Pier, Ammiano, Chu, Dufty, Elsbernd, Maxwell, McGoldrick and Sandoval.
Against: Supervisors Daly, Mirkarimi and Peskin.
