San Juan County Proposed Property Tax Increase (November 2009)
The measure was approved.
This ballot will increase the regular property tax levy in the county by $.12. This increase on revenue will go towards public health, the county sheriff office, various senior services, county fairs, parks and various other extension programs as cited in the ballot measure.
The ballot read:
"The San Juan County Council adopted Resolution No. 28-2009 concerning an increase to the property tax levy. This proposition would increase the regular property tax levy of San Juan County by $0.12 to a total of $0.60336 per $1000 of assessed valuation for tax years 2010-2015 and subject to the limit factors in RCW Chapter 84.55, for the purpose of funding programs and personnel for: senior services, fair, parks, extension programs, public health, sheriff, prosecutor and other items at the amounts set forth in the resolution.
