Arizona Corporation Commission 2009-2013
Kennedy first assumed office in 2009 and served until 2013.[2]
Arizona State Senate 1992-1998
In 1992, she was elected state senator and subsequently served three terms from 1992 to 1998.[2]
Arizona House of Representatives 1986-1992
Kennedy was first elected to the Arizona House of Representatives in 1986, where she served for six years from 1986 to 1992.[2] During this time, she was appointed to the Arizona Employment and Training Council by Gov. Rose Mofford.
Executive Committee of the Arizona Democratic Party 1990-1992
In 1990, was appointed to the Executive Committee of the State Democratic Party and served for two years.[2]
Phoenix Union High School Governing Board 1990-1994
Also in 1990 she was elected to serve a four year term on the Phoenix Union High School Governing Board.[2]

2012
A total of three seats were up for election on the Arizona Corporation Commission in 2012. Kennedy ran for re-election to her seat, while incumbent Paul Newman and Marcia Busching also ran in the August 28 Democratic primary.[5] Kennedy was defeated in the general election on November 6, 2012.[3]
