Sandy Cole (b. December 29, 1953) was a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing District 62 from 2007 to 2013. She is also a Lake County Board Commissioner and Lake County Forest Preserves Commissioner.

Cole worked as an Office Manager with Cole, Martin and Company from 1992-1996. She graduated from Rockford College in 1976 with a B.S. in Graphic Arts with a minor in Mathematics; she also received a secondary education teaching certificate.[1][2]

HB0259 Plastic Bag Recycling Act Requires retailers that distribute plastic bags to consumers to implement a plastic bag collection and recycling program. Sets out plastic bag recycling program requirements. Provides that any retailer who knowingly violates the Act is guilty of a business offense punishable by a fine of not more than $5,000.

Cole ran for re-election in the 2012 election for Illinois House of Representatives District 62. Cole was unopposed in the March 20 Republican primary and was defeated by Sam Yingling (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[4][5][6]

She defeated Paul Mitchell in the Republican primary on February 2nd by a margin of 4,344 to 2,675. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.
