November 4, 2008 ballot for voters in the Santa Barbara Elementary School District in Santa Barbara County, California, where it was approved.
Measure I levied a $27 annual parcel tax for four years.
The Measure I parcel tax is set to expire on July 1, 2013, as does the Measure H (high school) parcel tax that voters approved on the same day that they approved Measure I.[1]
Four years later, in 2012, voters in the district were asked to extend both the Measure I and the Measure H parcel taxes they had approved in November 2008. On June 5, 2012, they rejected the extension, defeating Measures W (high school) and X (elementary school). Then, on the November 6, 2012 ballot, voters approved Measures A (elementary) and B (high school), extending the parcel taxes for four more years (until 2017).
