A Santa Maria Prevailing Wage for Police Officers Initiative may be on a 2010 ballot in Santa Barbara County for voters in the City of Santa Maria.[1]
The Santa Maria Police Officers Association supports the measure, which as of October 1, 2009, was in the early stages of gaining approval on its ballot title.
The objective of the initiative is to create a mandatory procedure to determine wages and benefits for police officers based on the salary schedules of law enforcement agencies in cities near Santa Maria.
