A Santa Rita Hills Community Services District, Measure A ballot proposition was on the May 5, 2009 ballot in Santa Barbara County, California, for voters in the proposed Santa Rita Hills community services district where it was approved.

Measure A asked if voters want to ratify the recommendation of the Santa Barbara Local Agency Formation Commission that a new community services district--the proposed Santa Rita Hills district--be formed. If the district is formed, residents of the district will be assessed to pay for an annual special tax that would be $3 million in FY 2008-2009.

The election was conducted exclusively as a mail-in ballot.

The question asked on the ballot is:

Shall the action taken by the Santa Barbara Local Agency Formation Commission ordering the formation of a Community Services District in the territory known as the Santa Rita Hills be approved subject to the terms and conditions set forth in such resolution including authorization of an annual special tax not to exceed $3,000,000 for FY 2008-2009 with the maximum tax to be determined annually be approved?"
