This measure sought to reverse a city ordinance, 816, which would allow the city to acquire 380 acres to add to the urban growth boundary of the city. This measure was brought forth by a petition by citizens who acquired 576 signatures, only 360 were required to move the measure to the ballot. Residents questioned the amount of land and the developer who owns most of the land. The developer of the land noted that this will just delay the process. Petitioners were hoping this would be on the November ballot so more people would vote on it.[2]
