L. Scott Bruun (b. May 3, 1966) was a Republican member of the Oregon House of Representatives He represented District 37 from 2005 to 2011. Bruun has been a Precinct Committee member since 1994. He was Co-coordinator of the Bush-Cheney campaign in 2000 and a delegate to the GOP convention in 1996. In 1996, Bruun was a candidate for the office he now holds.

Bruun holds the position of Principal, S.I. Construction, and has been Vice President of Lorentz Bruun Construction, KeyBank of Oregon, and Wells Fargo Bank. In addition, he has been Associate Director of the Bank of Nova Scotia. Bruun holds a MBA from Portland State University.

Bruun and his wife, Alison, have two children, Natalie and Katie.[1]

Bruun did not run for re-election in 2010.

Instead he faced Kurt Schrader when he ran for the Oregon District 5 seat in the United States House of Representatives on November 3, 2010. Schrader won the election with 51% of the vote to Bruun's 46%.[2]

2008

On November 4, 2008, Bruun won re-election to Oregon State House District 37.[3][4]

Congressional candidacy

Bruun ran for freshman Congressman Kurt Schrader's seat, representing the 5th District of Oregon. Schrader narrowly defeated Bruun.[7]

Finances

Bruun sent out a release shortly before financial data was due to the Federal Election Commission. The Republican candidate raised $198,000 between March 30 and June 30, with over $150,000 coming from individuals and just over $13,000 coming from political action committees (PACs).[8]
