Holcomb teachers part time at Georgia Tech's Sam Nunn School of International Affairs. He served six years as a captain in the U.S. Army's Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps and six years in the Air National Guard; while on active duty, he was deployed to Bosnia and Iraq. Holcomb is on the Board of Directors of HOPE Atlanta, an organization dedicated to preventing homelessness, and is a member of the Georgia state bar's Military Legal Assistance Program Committee.
He holds a B.A. from the University of Connecticut and a J.D. from West Virginia University. He and his wife, Kathleen, have one son.
