Conners is a police detective in Jersey City and a member of the Jersey City school board.[1]

On November 8, 2011, Connors won election to District 33 of the New Jersey General Assembly. Connors and incumbent Ruben Ramos, Jr. defeated Ravi Bhalla in the Democratic Primary on June 7. They then defeated Fernando Unibe and Christopher Garcia in the November 8 general election.[2]
