Secretary of State Investigating a Widespread Voter Fraud Probe in West Virginia

The West Virginia Secretary of State said a voter fraud problem occurred only in Kanawha County. This comeas as the agency said similar activity was found in Monongalia and Jefferson counties. But Deputy Secretary of State Sarah Bailey disputes the head Secretary of State by claiming that there were no problems were discovered in either of those counties. Several hundred phony applications in Kanawha County were detected through the use of the statewide voter registration databank, which stores images of voters' signatures. A list of suspects has been passed on to West Virginia law enforcement officials.[1]

Once the investigation is complete, Secretary of State Betty Ireland is expected to recommend changes to the state's registration policy.[1]
