Two Seven Hills City Levy Addition measures were on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the city of Seven Hills which is in Cuyahoga County.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 2,484 (48.26%)
  • NO 2,663 (51.74%)Defeatedd[1]

The first measure sought to add to the current garbage levy by a rate of $.07 per $100 of assessed property value for a further two years in order to continue to pay for garbage and refuse collection services in the city.

The second measure sought to replace and increase the current fire levy to one set at a rate of $.17 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to further pay for fire fighter salaries, services and vehicle maintenance fees.[2]

Garbage Levy

The question on the ballot:

An additional tax for the benefit of the City of Seven Hills, for the purpose of providing for the collection and disposal of garbage or refuse at a rate not exceeding 0.7 mill for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to 7 cents for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for a period of two years, commencing in 2011, first due in calendar year 2012.[3]

Fire Levy

The question on the ballot:

A replacement of 1.5 mills of an existing levy and an increase of 0.2 mill, to constitute a tax for the benefit of the City of Seven Hills for the purpose of the payment of permanent and part-time firefighters, including the payment of the firefighter employers' contribution required under Section 742.34 of the Revised Code, and the provision of ambulance, paramedic and other emergency medical services operated by the City's Fire Department at a rate not exceeding 1.7 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to 17 cents for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five years, commencing in 2011, first due in calendar year 2012.[3]
