Shane Cultra
Shane Cultra (Republican Party) was a member of the Illinois State Senate, representing District 53. He assumed office on January 12, 2011. He left office in 2013.
Cultra (Republican Party) ran for election to the U.S. House to represent Illinois' 2nd Congressional District. He lost in the Republican primary on June 28, 2022.
Cultra previously served in the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 105th District from 2003 to 2010.
Biography
Cultra is the former President of Onarga Nursery, and Girls Basketball Coach at Saint John's Lutheran School in Buckley.
He is Chair of the Grand Prairie Seminary Board of Trustees of the Lions Club, Onarga Christian Church, and Chair of the Onarga Community Center.[1]

Cultra ran for re-election to the Illinois State Senate in District 53 in the 2012 election. Cultra lost to Jason Barickman, current House incumbent in District 105, in the Republican primary on March 20, 2012. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3][4]

2010

The Illinois Opportunity Project, "an independent research and public policy enterprise that promotes legislative solutions in advance of free markets and free minds," annually releases its Legislative Vote Card, grading all members in both chambers of the Illinois General Assembly on the basis of their support of "pro-growth economic policies that increase personal freedom and reign in expansive government."[8][9]

Cultra received a score of 87.50 out of 100 in 2012 for a grade of A- according to the IOP’s grading scale. Her score was tied for the 17th highest among all 59 members of the Illinois State Senate included in the Vote Card.[9]
