Stewart-Peregoy earned her BS in Elementary Education from Montana State University in 1976. She later received her M.Ed in Education, Emphasis on Curriculum and Instruction, from the City University at Seattle in 2002.
Stewart-Peregoy was Director of the Title III Program at Little Big Horn College, Crow Agency, Montana. She then worked as Coordinator for Crow Tobacco Prevention Program, Executive Branch, for the Crow Agency, Montana, from 2003 to 2006. She was Director of the Crow Tribal Health Department, Executive Branch, for the Crow Agency, Montana, for the next year. She has been a Research/Development Specialist for the Office of Economic Development of the Crow Tribe of Indians since 2007.
