Sharon Sund is a 2014 Democratic candidate seeking election to the U.S. House to represent the 3rd Congressional District of Minnesota.[1]

Sund was previously a 2012 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 3rd Congressional District of Minnesota. She is currently the Chair of the Hennepin County Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, serving since 2012.[2]

Biography

Sund earned her B.A. in chemistry and biology from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota and her M.A. in technical communications from the University of Minnesota.[3]

Sund is running in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent Minnesota's 3rd District. Sund is seeking the Democratic nomination in the primary on August 12, 2014. The general election takes place November 4, 2014.

2012

Sund ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Minnesota's 3rd District.[4] In the third district Democratic convention, Edina businessman Brian Barnes won the party endorsement, and Sund chose to back his candidacy.[5] She was subsequently elected Chair of the Hennepin County Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party.[2]

Sund's campaign received wide-support from Minnesota state senators and representatives, including Susan Allen, Bobby Joe Champion, Chris Eaton, Sandra Peterson, Patricia Torres Ray, Jeff Hayden, Rena Moran, Denise Dittrich, Ann Rest, and Linda Slocum.[6]

Personal

Sund has two children with her husband, Julius. They live in Plymouth, MN.[3]
