Petition Companies

Shawn D. Wilmoth worked for National Solutions, a petition drive management company.[1]

In September 2011, Wilmoth pled guilty to two counts of election fraud. Wilmoth was arrested in April 2011 in Michigan and accused of instructing employees to fraudulently sign petition pages. He was extradited to Arlington in May 2011 and was held without bond. A statement of facts entered as part of the plea revealed that Wilmoth hired two ex-cons, who were ineligible to collect petition signatures under state law. As part of the plea deal, Wilmoth was given two concurrent five year sentences, with four and eight months suspended on the condition of good behavior and repayment of court and extradition costs, according to Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Andy Parker. Wilmoth sentenced to three years of supervised probation. The two ex-cons hired by Wilmoth, Cheryl Simmons and William Cockerham, both pled guilty to voter fraud in 2011.[2]
