The Shawno New Construction Referendum was a school bond issue on the September 9 ballot in the Shawano School District, Shawano County. The purpose of the referendum was to get general obligation bonds not to exceed $24,900,000 to fund the construction of an energy efficient new preschool and to renovate the existing elementary school.

Text of measure

Be it resolved by the School Board of the Shawano School District, Shawano County, Wisconsin, that there shall be issued, pursuant to Chapter 67, Wisconsin Statutes, General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to exceed $24,900,000 for the purpose of paying the cost of constructing a new energy efficient Early Childhood through grade 2 school; improvements and an addition to the Olga Brener elementary school to convert it to a grade 3 through 5 facility; and equipment acquisition related to said projects.

Result

Passed: 2,186 voted "yes" and 1,842 voted "no".
