Prior to her election to the Assembly, Oliver served as assistant county administrator for the County of Essex from 2000-2003. She also served as a member of the East Orange Board of Education from 1994-2000, serving as its president from 1999-2000.[1]
Biography
Oliver earned her B.S. in sociology from Lincoln University and her Master of Science in community organization, planning and administration from Columbia University. National Political Awareness Test
Oliver's answers to the New Jersey State Legislative Election 2003 National Political Awareness Test are available. The test provides voters with a candidate's views on a number of major issues. When asked her top priorities, she answered, "Urban Development/Community Development," and "Employment Opportunity."[2]

2013
Oliver is running in the 2013 election for New Jersey General Assembly District 34. Oliver is bracketed with Thomas Giblin and opposed by Rayfield Morton, Anthony Moye, Beverly K. Williams, Denise Baskerville, and Clenard H. Childress, Jr. in the June 4 Democratic primary. The general election takes place on November 5, 2013.
2011
Oliver won re-election in 2011. She and incumbent Thomas Giblin ran unopposed in the Democratic Primary on June 7. They then defeated Steve Farrell, Joan Salensky, Clenard Childress, and David Taylor in the November 8 general election as well.[3]
