A Sherwood City Home Rule Charter Revision question was on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the city of Sherwood which is in Washington County.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 1,453 (41.76%)
  • NO 2,026 (58.24%)Defeatedd[1]

This measure sought approval of revisions made to the city charter.[2] An error had been found for this measure, the ballot title differed from the explanatory statement given in the voter information pamphlet. The title stated that the measure would delete the requirement that the council must be elected by position, but later the explanation says that requirement would remain in place. When asked about it, city officials took it to the state and they noted that the ballot title trumps the explanation statement and since it was past the seven days from when it was submitted, the title cannot be removed. But residents can challenge the results after the election if they sought fit.[3]
