Shirley Nathan-Pulliam (b. May 20, 1939) is a Democratic member of the Maryland State Senate, representing District 44. She was first elected to the chamber in 2014.

Nathan-Pulliam served in the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 10 and currently serving as Deputy Minority Whip. She was first elected to the chamber in 1994.

The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 25, 2014. Incumbent Verna Jones-Rodwell was defeated by Shirley Nathan-Pulliam in the Democratic primary. Bernie Reiter was unopposed in the Republican primary. Nathan-Pulliam defeated Reiter in the general election.[1][2]
