With ballots already printed, East's name still appeared on the ballot, with any votes cast for him going to Randleman.[1][2]
Randleman defeated Ric Marshall in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.

On November 2, 2010 Randleman won election to the North Carolina House of Representatives. She defeated John Reavill in the primary and faced David Moulton (D) in the general election.[3]
