Police Salaries up for vote
In Sierra Madre, California, a citywide ballot has asked citizens if the police deserve a 20 percent salary hike.[1] This would be an annual cost of $1 million dollars on the city budget and force cuts of current libraries and parks to fund the raise. The 20 percent pay increase would put Sierra Madre police pay in line with that of 10 other foothill city police departments.
