Signatures filed for Michigan "Protect Our Jobs" Amendment

LANSING, Michigan: On Wednesday, June 13, supporters of the Michigan "Protect Our Jobs" Amendment turned in 684,286 signatures, according to a spokesman from the Department of State. This is over twice the number of valid names required to qualify for the ballot, meaning the amendment as almost assured to be approved by the Secretary of State. Even if the names are approved, however, there will still remain one hurdle between supporters and the amendment making it to the ballot - the Board of State Canvassers. If approved by the board, voters will get weigh in on the measure which seeks to guarantee collective bargaining rights for public and private sector employees.
