Simon Alvarado was a 2012 Independent write-in candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 35th Congressional District of Texas.

Alvarado was defeated by Democratic candidate Lloyd Doggett on November 6, 2012.[1]

Alvarado stated the following about his political philosophy in a biographical submission to Ballotpedia:[2]

"Americans expect their elected representatives to run their government in a manner that preserves our rights and freedoms, legislate in a manner that keeps our economy strong and our nation safe, and I hope to never deliver less than what is expected. When those elected to serve the people do not deliver and they have consistently failed to do so over many years, it is time to consider term limits as a way to dismiss them for their failure to deliver."

Alvarado ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Texas' 35th District. He ran as an Independent write-in candidate. He ran against Susan Narvaiz (R), Ross Lynn Leone (L), Meghan Owen (G), William Paul Frederick Wright (I), and incumbent Lloyd Doggett (D) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[3]
