Slovenian Croatian Border Referendum, 2010

A Slovenian Croatian Border Referendum was held on June 6, 2010 in the country of Slovenia in order to determine if citizens wanted to agree to the border agreement made with the neighboring country of Croatia.
This referendum was approved by voters with 51.48% of the votes in favor of the agreement.
The victory was seen as a historic day by the Slovenian President who was happy to have issues solved in a democratic fashion. The border dispute was about an area of land that connected the two countries in the Adriatic Bay of Piran. Both governments see this vote as a step forward in relations and hope other issues between the two countries can be solved now that the border issue is no longer a problem.[1]
