There was a Soldotna City Disclosure Rule Change on the October 6, 2009 ballot ballot in Soldotna.

The city council approved an ordinance on August, 26 to change the the disclosure rules to be local and not coincide with state legislation. Soldotna is one of a few Alaskan cities who put this on their October ballots, citing that state rules are too intrusive into local matters. Councilwoman Betty Obendorf was vocal in wanting to make sure realtors, insurance professional, financial advisers, doctors and attorneys were also added to the lists of those that do not have to disclose their client information if they do not want to.[1]

The official ordinance states that the local government wants to establish its own rules and guidelines to manage financial disclosure laws that are currently under the state regulations.[2]

Unofficial results: This measure was not passed, 57.30% voted against it.[3]
