Although Anna Bennett has no plans on trying to vote twice in the election, she did receive two ballots - one from Pierce County and one from King County. She is one of several Washington voters to receive more than one ballot. "The first thing that occurred to me was the governor's race the last time around, because it was so close," Bennet said, "And I thought it wouldn't take very many of these (double ballots) to make a difference."[1]

Small window

Washington has a statewide voter system that is designed to immediate notify election officials if a registration has been changed. However, they do admit there is a very small window where two ballots could be sent.

King County officials said that voters would have had to have registered right around October 20 in order to receive two ballots. They stressed that the state computer system removes the old registration before any ballots are counted, and that there is no chance of someone voting twice and having both counted.
