Sonoma County Vehicle Registration Fee, Measure W (November 2010)
Measure W, if it had been approved by voters, would have added $10 to the fees associated with registering a vehicle in the county. A simple majority vote was required to enact the new tax. It was estimated that the new fee, if it had been approved, would have raised about $5 million a year for the county.
The funds would have been divided as follows:
- 12% for Safe Routes to School
- 60% for the bus systems operated by Sonoma County, Petaluma, Santa Rosa and Healdsburg, and enhanced services for seniors and employee- or school-sponsored transit passes.
- 23% to improve, maintain and rehabilitate roads, including repair of potholes.
- These final, certified, election results are from the Sonoma County elections office.
