South Carolina Amendment 3 was on the November 7, 2000 election ballot in South Carolina. It passed, with 65% of voters in favor.

Text of measure

The language that appeared on the ballot:

Allows a county, by local referendum, to approve an additional sales and use tax that, if passed, would remove all, or a portion of, property taxes levied on cars, pickup trucks, motorcycles, general aviation aircraft, boats, and boat motors registered in that county.
