South Dakota Abortion Ban, Referendum 6 (2006)
The South Dakota Abortion Ban Referendum, also known as Referendum 6, was on the November 7, 2006 ballot in South Dakota as a veto referendum, where it was defeated. The measure would have approved House Bill 1215, which would have prohibited any person, at any time, from providing any substance to a pregnant woman or using any instrument or procedure on a pregnant woman for the purpose of terminating her pregnancy, except to prevent the death of the pregnant woman.
