Previously, Zimmerman was a Republican candidate for District 48 of the Wisconsin State Assembly. The primary election was on September 14, 2010 and the general election was on November 2, 2010.
Biography
Zimmerman holds a BS in Business Administration from Edgewood College in 2006. He was trained in Information Systems Technology while in the Airforce and served as a Computer Systems Operator 200-2004. [2]

Zimmerman ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. Senate, representing Nebraska. He was seeking the nomination on the Republican ticket, but he was defeated by Deb Fischer in the May 15, 2012 primary. [3]

Zimmerman was defeated by Democratic incumbent Joseph Parisi in the November 2 general election. Also defeated was Independent Grant Gilbertson. He was unopposed in the primary election. [5]

Campaign themes
Zimmerman, in an interview with the Wisconsin State Journal, says his first priority is to reduce Wisconsin's deficit and pay off the debt. He also opposes the law that created the Dan County Regional Transit Authority and its power to raise the sales tax. [6]
