This measure was defeated

  • YES 26,483 (37.75%)
  • NO 43,668 (62.25%)Defeatedd[1]

This measure sought to increase the current property tax rate by $.35 per $1,000 of assessed property value for six years in order to further fund family and youth services offered by the city.[2] The main programs supported by this levy are after and before school programs as well as early childhood development programs. Supporters noted that programs outside of school help kids just as much as those during school. The goal was also to help kids who drop out to rather stay in school.[3]
