Springfield School District "Proposition Classrooms For Kids" Bond question was approved on the April 2, 2013 election ballot in Greene County, which is in Missouri.

This measure authorized the Springfield School District to increase its debt by $71.65 million through issuing general obligation bonds in that amount in order to fund the construction of new buildings and the purchasing of land as well as the improvement, renovation, purchasing and equipping of existing buildings. The estimated debt service tax levy would remain unchanged at the current rate of 5.1 mills ($5.1 per $1,000 of assessed valuation).

This measure requires a 4/7ths (57.1%) majority approval rate to pass.[1]

Text of the question:

Shall the School District of Springfield R-12, Springfield, Missouri, issue its general obligation bonds in the amount of $71,650,000 for the purpose of (1) constructing new buildings and purchasing land, (2) improving, repairing, renovating and acquiring buildings, including technology improvements, and (3) furnishing and equipping school buildings?

If this proposition is approved, the District’s debt service tax levy is estimated to remain unchanged at the current levy of $0.51 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation.
