A Springvale Township Fire Levy Renewal measures was on the August 3, 2010 ballot in the township of Springvale which is in Emmet County.

The measure sought to renew the current levy of $1 per $1,000 of assessed value for a further five years in order to continue to help pay for general expenses of the fire district in the township.[1]

  • YES 254 (76.05%) Approveda
  • NO 80 (23.95%)[2]

FIRE DEPARTMENT

OPERATING MILLAGE RENEWAL PROPOSAL Shall the previous voted increase in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution in Springvale Township, of 1 mill ($1.00 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) be renewed at 1 mill ($1.00 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) and levied for 5 years, 2012 through 2016 inclusive, for fire department operating purposes, raising an estimated $87,791.00 in the first year the millage is levied (this is a proposed renewal of a millage that expires in 2011).[3]
